governos precisam agir conquista energia sustentável futuroFriday, day 15 June was the world day of the Wind when thousands of people will have the experience of wind energy in more than 200 events in at least 40 countries of the world. World Wind is pressing world leaders present at the Rio Conference +20 doubling the quantity of renewable energy up 2030.

Wind energy is currently used in more than 75 countries of the world, with 21 of them having more than 1.000 MW installed. The current capacity of more than 250 GW installed is more than 30 often used for only 15 years ago when the Kyoto Protocol was signed in 1997.

Industry estimates show that wind power, with the right policy support, capacity will double up 2015, and again until the end of this decade, providing 9 – 12 % global electricity supply. This will reduce CO2 emissions by up to 1,5 billion tonnes per year, save billions of gallons of precious fresh water, e contribuir para a safety da energia e estabilidade dos preços nos países em todo o mundo; but, para a energia eólica e outras energias renováveis alcançarem seu potencial complete, Governments have to act.

The leaders present in Rio has the opportunity to establish a new course on the basis of a more sustainable energy future. A iniciativa do Secretário-General da ONU Ban Ki-moon, Sustainable energy for All calls for universal access to energy, two times more energy efficiency and renewable energy up to twice more 2030.

Kandeh K. Yumkella, o Diretor Geral da Organização das Nações Unidas para o Development Industrial (KINGDOM) and leader of the initiative of the Secretary-General said: “We have to double the amount of renewable energy in the overall energy mix up 2030. This can be achieved with a significant contribution of wind energy, tanto dos systems conectados em grade e de pequena escala descentralizados. The ‘ World Wind Day’ in 15 June has an essential role in contributing to sustainable energy for all initiative of the UN Secretary-General, to attract the much needed support for the wind energy sector on the part of political leaders from around the world”.
